To g or not to g?
that my friends is the big question! Oh how my poor little head has been fretting of late about our potential contribution to the ever growing landfill issue...do I want to participate in the poobomb war? or should I take the higher ground and go cloth? These diapers are kinda new, they have a 'flushable' insert, which sounds good, but it does require more work, it's a little more money up front, but it also means we'd save some cash on the tail end (pardon the pun).
I'm going to give it a try, maybe when we are at home, and use the non-chlorine diapers when we go out or to the hospital or Doctors?
I'm going to get a 'starter' pack....I know mike is not keen on this, just from the 'touch the stink' perspective....but I am going to give it a try. The starter pack is about $25 and gives you 2 diaper covers and some liners...I think thats a small enough cost to at least give it a try right?
take a look at g
Mike just brought me my moring cup of coffee and I showed him these diapers and he said YES! He said we could give them a try, wow...he must still be half asleep!

Wow Hayley nice find! These are great...I could never do cloth diapers (have a hard enough time with laundry) but these are a great middle ground. Love the video of how they break down.....5 years for regular disposables oh my!!!

I have a large assoratment of "Kooshies" I would be glad to get off my hands if you are interested - unfortunately hardly used. They also used that little flushable insert.

Speaking of being asleep - I must have missed your post about booking the tickets!!! We won't see you in HK disney :(
But on the up-side, I hope you meet your sweet Paisley on the 16th of March... best day of the year, you know?!! (yes, my birthday!)

I've never seen nappies like those before? Sounds like a really good idea - although, I've with Mike - touching the stink, doesn't sound so flash?!

We used both disposable and cloth- there are some really FUN cloth ones now a days. :) I used aio's (all in ones) for times when dh was in charge as those are the least icky to deal with. You can also wear rubber gloves when washing them out and never have to touch the ick. :) My faves were under the nile organic cotton diapers with wool covers. The wool airs out nicely and you can use them over and over. Anyhow, I am rambling and reality is we used more disposable than I originally thought we would but buying those cute diapers is kind of addictive and they look so cute on their booties. :)

I know many people who use this style. It looks quite easy to use. We didn't do this style because of our 100 yr old septic. But I would have used this kind if I could have.

We'll be doing cloth for our second kid too. I've heard raves about Fuzzi Bunz. The best resource I've found for cloth so far was www.diaperswappers.com. Good luck!

Wow, I have never even heard of these but I'm so excited about them. I have a while before we get our little one but this has been on of the big questions weighing on me (cloth vs. disposable) This may be just the answer. Thanks!! You guys are just cutting edge Green ;)

Go, Hayley! Yah, I'm really leaning toward these too. I'm progressively greening my nursery at this point. Right now my fight is to keep the plastic out, or at least to a minimum. It ain't easy in this day and age! I think I'm stopping before organic crib mattresses (just can't afford) but will use the organic mattress covers and crib set.

My word the damn things are even cute.

Those are cool!! I've never seen that kind. We used FuzziBunz for awhile for Grant... that lasted all of about 2 months. :) Just warning you. Maybe the fact that the inserts are flushable would make them much less work though!

I've used 7th Generation diapers too - they are unbleached & biodegradeable. My hubby calls them "Whole Wheat Diapers." :)

You crack me up!!!! I am going to give you some serious snaps for even attempting this!!!! Can't wait to hear how it goes, and how Mike likes them too!!!

I just scrolled down for some of your earlier posts. I LOVE the pendent for the angel who found Paisley!
What a blessing that will be for her. I would love to do that for Ruby's too.. Jeff met her personally when we were in China. And, we have stayed in contact with her via photos, etc....

I hope things are coming together. It won't be long now. Soon Piper will be partying with the Princesses! Did I ever tell you I worked for "The Mouse!"

Take care!
