Mummy is starting her own business. Last year she attended a training course to become a post partum Doula and in July she will be finished with her last certification client and will be ready to start helping families with newborns.

Mummy says she really wants to focus on parents with adopted newborns as they are often 'left out' of the support cycle and people don't think they need as much help because they didn't physically give birth. The facts are that adoptive parents are less prepared physically (haven't been waking up in those last months to pee...oh you thought that was just annoying? It's natures way to get you ready for those 2am, 4am, 6am feedings!) and can be just as exhausted emotionally, and stressed when a baby comes home. Mummy's job will be to support and encourage new parents and to help them learn some of the skills that they will need to transition a little one into the family.

Mummys new business will be called 'Silver Fern Post Partum Doula & Newborn Services', a shout out to her kiwi roots! It's great work for a Mummy who wants to spend as much time with her kiddos..namely ME!

After 16+ years in the world of Nannydom and baby nursing, Mummy is going to focus on 'family centered' care rather than specifically 'baby & child' care. She's not officially hanging up her 'Super Nanny' cape just yet though!
