We've decided to start collecting for the 100 wishes quilt we want to make for Piper's sister(or brother). The last time we sent out letters to friends and family and had a wonderful response. Piper is now the proud owner of a beautiful art piece with over 100 squares of fabric from around the world. She loves her quilt, and cannot wait to have her big girl bed so that she can use it every night.

It took over a year for us to finish, no, don't let me give you the impression that WE made it, we went through a lot to have the quilt made, and finally a full year after we first handed it over we got it back...and we love it.

Please send a 'squish', and a wish.

Ideas for selecting fabric squares:

Select a fabric that is meaningful to you.
100% cotton fabric (please no brocades, flannels or synthetics)
It would be so special to include good wishes from all members of your family, so if you want, each child or family member can send a piece of fabric and wish, or just one 'family' wish and several pieces of fabric!!
In China, these quilts were originally made from garments of family and friends, which would surround the child with luck/good wishes.

Ideas for good wishes note:

what would you wish for a child to have in his/her life? Some ideas that come to mind are good health, perseverance, compassion, and sense of humor.
A favorite quote, bible verse or words to a song, or just a heartfelt wish.
please include a small piece of fabric on the wish, so we can match up the 'squish' with the wish.

I will post some of the squishes we have recieved so you can get some ideas!!
