Go sell crazy someplace else!

of course she's qualified..that's a rifle on her shoulder..a pre-requisite for Republican VP's!

Today I was in our local Supermarket and came across this magazine...Holy Mother of God! Are we really serious people? Is this all you can come up with for a potential VP of the most powerful country on the PLANET? Isn't there someone else? Bueller? Bueller? Please don't tell me this gun waving broad from the nether-regions of the country(sorry Alaska, but you aren't exactly the heart of the country!) is the best and the brightest the Republican (guuch guuch..Gollum cough, please excuse me) Party has to offer? What is disturbing me more than anything is that anatomy is seeming to play a part in people choosing which ticket to vote for...hey, I'm all for equal opportunities, but seriously Condi Rice is a better option, and she's black AND wears a bra!(double whammy) C'mon people, this is scary scary scary...not even Batcat will be able to help us if these jokers get into office!

for your viewing pleasure some nice juicy twofaced spin from the Elephants(my hero John brings it!)

disclaimer: if you are a republican, turn away now...oops, I guess I should have put the disclaimer at the top.

Yes if this country goes Repulican again especially with these particular clowns, we have sworn we are moving to Canada.

We could not agree with you more! I have to admit, I did watch the RNC, and for a few minutes I thought it was a rodeo.

Haley - Thanks for the Belly laugh! I am horrified and concerned that so many seem so blind to the state of the country - but honest to goodness there's a ton of humor to be had in this - Caribou Barbie?

Hi! Just stumbled onto your blog. This was a great introduction!!! I am sick sick sick of seeing and hearing about Sarah Palin. As soon as we got this magazine in the mail and saw its cover I wanted to scream. Really this woman DOES NOT represent me. AH! that felt good.

OH MY GOSH this post cracks me up! Ok, now I'm just a huge fan of yours for life. GOBAMA! I'd like to know how they're convincing the people frustrated with Bush that they won't be frustrated with this duo?

I've never carried a gun in my life...I'm not sure how this makes her more easy to relate to?

Yes, the disclaimer should have been first. Actually I would claim I am an independent...

She has solidified my vote as she is a strong woman with great values. She does represent my family better than any candidate. BUT with that being said, she is only VP and lets remember, their role is very very limited unless the President dies.

I guess I don't understand the people who post saying it is ridiculous. Can people really relate to Obama? He doesn't lead a typical American life. He is a multi-millionaire as is McCain. Do you really think for one second that with that much money ANYONE can be on par with the typical working class American.

Palin has a family no different than anyone else. A daughter who got knocked up, a husband who likes to hunt and fish, and a special needs child that in most political circles would ostracize her family from ever being one of the "elite".

Obama with a brother and grandmother in Kenya that he doesn't have relationships with? If he doesn't help his own family do you really think he will help the average American. I think not.

Mike, you are full of shit as usual, but I love you...and I know it wont take much to make you leave the dark side...after all, dont you normally?

but then again, I dont enjoy family vacays on Martha's Vineyard so I'm left out of the 'average american' loop!

please enlighten me!

I love your posts on this subject... I forward them to my mother it gives her some relief form her McCain loving office mates. She definitely doesn't represent me, she honestly scares me...I think pistol packing and Mama should never be used in the same sentence. Go Obama - not only does he make me feel hopeful but anyone inclined to look outside the biased American media would see he is bringing hope to the rest of the world that things can change. Leaders who inspire can achieve great things.

Yet Mike, here is the question you should ask yourself. If John McCain were to die (look at the actuarial tables - it's more likely than not given his past medical history), then do you think Sarah Palin could best represent this country in direct talks with Russia/China, or leading the latest round of G8 talks?

She may be a "great" woman and share lots of values, but does she have the critical thinking skills, the depth of knowledge, that is required to run this country?

Given the fact that she didn't even realize that discretionary spending only makes up 18% of the federal budget, and is therefore the only part that can be "reduced" without cutting benefits, then one has to wonder what else she doesn't know.

Truth be told, until Obama's first book he and his wife were heavily in debt due to college loans.

Also, I'm not going to not vote for someone based upon the fact that they do not actively support relatives that they've seen once or twice in their life. What kind of standard is that? And what level of ridiculousness have we reached when that is a prerequisite for holding the highest office in the land?

One has to wonder how this country can remain as great as it is, when people who are smarter than us are given the label "elite" which is supposed to be regarded as a slur.

I don't want someone "who's just like me" to run the country. I want someone smarter than me, with more intellectual heft, that is willing to learn and expand on what they know, rather than an "average joe" who makes me feel comfortable. I wouldn't want that in my investment banker and I certainly wouldn't want that in my President.

Just my .02.
