WHITE TRASH NATION

The Sidewalk to Nowhere, McCain Supporters in Bethlehem, PA

Shocking! These are Americans...waiting in line for a McCain/Palin rally. Nice huh. Proud to be an American? Not today, not today. This is repulsive, disgusting and shameful. The lies, the hatred, wow. The Republicans should be so proud of the type of people they have in their fold. Racism is alive and well in our great nation...and frankly the people at the top are doing nothing to quiet the disease than runs rampant in their supporters.

It makes me so angry, but more than that so very sad. I'm optimistic that Obama'll win at this point, and he'll work for those people, and he'll do as well as possible in these craptacular circumstances, and they'll still demonize him. They don't deserve him.

But I do.

What I will never never understand is how anyone who hears those statements doesn't question their party, doesn't question the ethics of what their party believes in? The racism that is so evident behind their words, how can anyone put belief in that? How can anyone not stand up for change?
I agree with insane mommy - as I said on my blog PRO-LIFE is NOT just about abortion, it is about ALL life - people from ALL races, religion, class and creed!

my daughters deserve a President like Obama...I agree.

How will 'America' perceive them as they grow up

"who are they? are they one of us?"

it's racist rhetoric.

UGH! I particularly was disgusted by the man that made the throat cutting gesture. Also at the person that yelled out that the raped woman should have to pay double for a kit. What the hell is wrong with these people?

If this is what they stand for, we really need to unite to stop this kind of hatred. For our children and for our country.

I'm a Republican, and a Christian..but you will not see me standing in a line like that or saying some of the horrible things they said. In regards to some of the previous comments: Please remember, there is hatred and there are crazies on BOTH sides of the aisle and in EVERY religion.

These people are complete, ignorant F*(Ks. McCain should be ashamed that these types of people are supporting him and making these types of inhumane and racist statements in his name.

In all seriousness, I am guessing if the situation were reversed, you would see the same thing. It is unfortunate that BOTH sides have resorted to some of the things we have all had to witness.

It scares me that people in this country can think like this. I remember experiencing racism after 9/11 (hubby is half lebanese) and being totally shocked, so, in some ways I've met these people before. I'm just glad McCain was forced to somewhat contradict the rethoric although he didn't stop it. He has to be ashamed that he has generated such outright and open hatred.

Hailey,
what were the Democrats doing at a McCain rally? Stirring up trouble of course! What do you expect the responses to be, hugs and kisses?

I am not a McCain supporter but I see hate and ignorance on all sides of this coin...I even see it here...with the moose doo-doo comment.

I'm also a Christian, but since when did being a Christian mean that you are a bad horrible person?

I'm reasonable, actually I believe in pro-choice...but hey you have to know better...if abortion is a hot button to some groups...you can't hit that button and claim innocence...it's the same as when we adoptive parents are told we shouldn't adopt children from China. That's my hot button and if you hit it, you won't like what you hear back.

This is a political issue not a good vs evil issue. People have got to get a grip and get behind whomever is elected.

Do I believe that certain Dems are swinging too far into socialism? Yes I do and I want a larger say over the $$$ I make----how it's distributed. That's why I am a Republican...not because I like the platform...it's because the power of the $$$ should be in the state level (and town level) rather than at the federal level.

BTW, love the photo of Paisley in the pumpkin patch!

JoAnn,

of course there are opposition at rallies...both sides..it's par to the course! But the ignorant verbal rubbish that comes out of the mouths of the Republican supporters is by far the most insane..I dont think the Dems could match that if they tried. Want more...I have PLENTY more!

As for the Christian thing...don't assume I'm not, or am...or not. I just dont subscribe to the one tracked big boxed American hooha that many do...my Faith is quieter, private and between me and my God. I never made the 'Christian' comparison, or link. You did.

I believe there are a lot of very nice people out there who believe in the Republican ideals...I think it's fair to allow them those beliefs...but what's happening below the surface has regular people on both side extremely concerned.

Stay Republican, thats your choice, mine is clearly not. Your faith has nothing to do with me, nor mine with anyone elses. Faith is personal, and should not be dictated by government.

As for the abortion button...I didnt bring it up, I responded to it when Shelly McStupidpants called me a baby killer...so you see, it was an open topic.

All's fair in Love and Plolitics(I refuse to believe alls fair in war, it isnt and never will be so I dont use that quote)...

as for taxes...

just ask away...I'd be happy to let you know my opinions on that one.

sincerely
