Referral Day Anniversary
On September 3, 2005 we received our referral from China. The call from CCAI came in the early afternoon and Teresa gave us the good news that we'd been waiting for...we were now almost 'officially' parents of an almost 8 month old little girl from Guangdong Province. The wait from LID(the day your papers are logged in at the CCAA in China) to referral was about 6-7 months! A few days later we received our FEDEX envelope with two more photos and a small amount of information. I can't believe it's been two years already! Amazing how our little pixie-pudding-pop has changed.
It was a great day for us, and we are forever grateful for the person at the CCAA who matched us with Piper. We are also grateful for the short time we had to wait for our referral, back then it 6.5 months, currently the wait for families with late November 2005 LID's is almost two years! Almost FOUR times the wait! We are so lucky and so blessed to have had our little girl for so long! On October 31 it will be exactly two years since we first held Piper, a scared little baby with wide brown eyes and pouty lips. Our sweet baby girl, our little angel, ratbag, scallywag and part time monster! We wouldn't know life without you!

Happy 1 year referral- I posted to our group yesterday, the memories of this day being still so fresh in my mind, watching our board light up like Christmas!
Isn't it so much fun remembering this day? Piper was such a CUTIE in those pics & is even MORE ADORABLE now!

Oh isnt she just a cutie patootie! All that HAIR! :) That was such a special day.

Happy 2 years! Hard to believe it has only been 2 years, it seems like just yesterday! But then it is also hard to remember life before our little chickens joined us!
