Half The Sky

The Charity 'Half the Sky' sent out an email to it's supporting families, asking for support for their Executive Director Jenny Bowen. She has entered a contest to be in the running(pardon the pun) for the Olympic torch relay in 2008. What a great way to promote Half the Sky and all the work they do for children in orphanages in China. If you want to see what amazing work they do click here I hope the Chinese government will allow her to run with the torch, if she wins this competition I really don't see how they wont be able to!

From Jenny Bowen at Half the Sky:

"Hello again,
Our volunteers in Wuhan had a great idea. It may be possible for some of our Half the Sky children to carry the Olympic torch next year. I've entered a contest sponsored by the China Daily Newspaper and, if I can get enough votes from citizens all over the world, I may be able to have that honor. If it happens, I will run with 8 children from 8 orphanages in China. Believe me, I am no runner. But I would dearly love to give the children a place at the party. Please take a moment and vote for me right now. We need a LOT of votes. Please pass this on to your friends and family.

Thanks and love,
