Quote of the Day

If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion. ~Dalai Lama

Isn't that the truth! A lot of my quotes aren't adoption specific, but this one not only touches my heart & soul, but it is from the Dalai Lama, a man of great peace. The OCDF fund we have set up for National Adoption month will benefit two orphanages in Tibet as well as the Coal for Children fund. Tibetan orphans are amongst the world's poorest, infant and mother mortality rates are the worlds highest. We need to try to make a difference, no matter how small...our $250 will be raised, it will turn into $500 and it will make a difference, maybe a lot smaller difference than a big corporation giving money to a charity...but it makes even one life better then it is worth more than all the worlds riches to me!

another quote I love....

A smile costs nothing but gives much.
It enriches those who receive without making poorer those who give.
It takes but a moment, but the memory of it sometimes lasts forever.
None is so rich or mighty that he cannot get along without it,
and none is so poor that he cannot be made rich by it.
Yet a smile cannot be bought, begged, borrowed, or stolen,
for it is something that is of no value to anyone until it is given away.
Some people are too tired to give you a smile.
Give them one of yours,
as none needs a smile so much as he who has no more to give.
